<p><a href="http://techcrunch.com/2012/01/19/twitter-acquires-summify/" target="_blank">Twitter ha comprado Summify</a>. Para los que no lo sepan, se trata de una herramienta que seleccionaba lo más compartido de distintas fuentes (Facebook, Google Reader o Twitter) y lo colocaba en resúmenes que te hacía llegar cada día por email o mediante  su aplicación de iPhone.</p>
<p>Fue de esas cosas que cambió mi forma de consumir contenido,<a href="http://www.misapisportuscookies.com/2011/10/me-he-convertido-en-un-bot-en-twitter-y-no-ha-pasado-nada/" target="_blank"> haciendo que cada vez entrar menos a Twitter a leer</a> y esperara tranquilamente los 3 resúmenes diarios, que por supuesto se autopublicaban en mi cuenta de Twitter.</p>
<p><strong>¿Qué podemos esperar de esto? </strong></p>
<p>A primera vista me parece algo bastante consistente con los últimos movimientos de Twitter, sobre todo después de su rediseño:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Twitter como red de noticias</strong>: el <em>#Descubre </em>de Twitter no sólo es más claro y manejable para los recién llegados. Facilita el encontrar temas <em>de moda </em>y lo hace de una forma bastante más visual.</li>
<li><strong>Un poco más alejado del tiempo real: </strong>con cierto nivel de <em>following </em>se hace difícil seguir lo importante sin acabar perdido en el mar de Tweets. Poder echar un vistazo a lo más relevante en tus contactos (vamos, una especie de <em>Trending Topics </em>personalizados para cada usuario) sería perfecto. Y eso se parece bastante a lo que hace Summify.</li>
<li><em><strong>Content Curation</strong></em><strong>: </strong>relacionado con lo anterior, si es en Twitter dónde se comparte gran cantidad de información, ¿por qué no usar esa inteligencia para recomendar contenidos? Son muchos los que ya usan esto para mejorar sus algoritmos (Zite o Flipboard, pero también el propio Summify) así que no sería mala idea que el propio Twitter se encargara de ello.</li>
</ul>
<p>Ahora viene lo malo: se acabó el poder abrir nuevas cuentas de Summify, al menos de momento. Y empiezan a surgir las dudas de qué pasará con la agregación de otros servicios ajenos a Twitter (Reader y Facebook). Veremos.</p>

<p>Y <a href="http://www.google.com/+1/button/">con +1</a> y la <a href="http://www.error500.net/articulo/google-compra-postrank" target="_blank">compra de PostRank</a>, un servicio de analítica social, diría que están dando pasos bastante enfocados:<strong> la estrategia social de Google no parece, al menos de momento, orientada a sacar un <a href="http://www.genbeta.com/a-fondo/google-me-google-trabaja-un-nuevo-fracaso-de-red-social-o-en-el-testamento-de-facebook" target="_blank">nuevo clon de Facebook</a> </strong>(¿habéis oído hablar últimamente de Google Me?) o experimentos como Buzz (por suerte).</p>
<p><strong>Más bien parece que intentan integrar lo social en algunos de sus principales servicios</strong>: si<strong> con +1 incorporaban una suerte de &laquo;<em>me gusta</em>&raquo; a su producto estrella</strong> (el buscador) y nos colocaban un botoncito más en millones de blogs y páginas, <strong>con la compra de PostRank tiene pinta de que Analytics será el primer beneficiado</strong>. Y de paso quizá empezaremos a tener un poco de orden en las métricas en medios sociales.</p>
<p><strong>La analítica en medios sociales</strong> está en pañales, un poco como los &laquo;hits&raquo; de antaño. No existe un enfoque claro, aunque sí intentos por definir un marco que vaya más allá de medir los &laquo;me gusta&raquo; y los followers.</p>
<p><strong>Y si PostRank se integra con Analytics, tendremos una buena forma de medir el éxito social del contenido</strong>.</p>
<p>Me surge alguna duda, como la integración de medios sociales locales (se habla de Digg o delicious, pero ¿qué pasaría con Menéame o redes verticales como Unience, en España?) o la integración de los datos con la analítica &laquo;tradicional&raquo;, pero tiene buena pinta.</p>

<p>Empiezo una serie de posts cuya continuidad desconozco, dedicada a las <em>grandes figuras </em>de las redes sociales. Estas personalidades que se han convertido, casi, casi, en estrellas.</p>
<p>Y para inaugurarla, poca gente mejor que <strong><a href="http://www.charleneli.com/">Charlene Li</a></strong>, que hace un par de semanas daba un seminario que organizaba el <strong><a href="http://es.hsmglobal.com/interior/index.php?idCMSIdioma=1">grupo HSM</a></strong> sobre estrategia en medios sociales.</p>
<p>La puesta en escena era bastante espectacular, muy <em>tipo TED: </em>pantalla gigante que mostraba las diapositivas y medio cuerpo de Charlene, vídeo motivador al principio y demás.</p>
<p><strong>¿El contenido? </strong>No estaba mal. El público objetivo eran directivos interesados en estos entornos, y el nivel relativamente básico.</p>
<p>Los ejemplos que adornaban el seminario salían en algunos casos de Groundswell, y en otros eran también bastante conocidos: Dell apareció unas cuantas veces. Pero al menos, se profundizó un poco más. No demasiado, pero no se limitó a citar el archiconocido outlet (que algún día me gustaría analizar a fondo, por eso de hacer un refrito del refrito).</p>
<p>En cualquier caso, a nadie le van a descubrir la pólvora en un evento de este tipo: estas cosas están para inspirarse, hacer algo de networking y ver lo bien (o mal, según el caso) que están montadas. <strong>Para aprender lo mejor sigue siendo lo de siempre: leer, observar, preguntar y practicar</strong>. No hay milagros.</p>
<p>Yo por lo menos me llevé mi Groundswell firmado (ya lo tengo firmado por los dos autores, aproveché una charla de Bernoff), un bonito cuaderno con las diapositivas y una libreta.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A principios de este año Zynga (<em>aka los del Farmville</em>) <a href="http://venturebeat.com/2011/01/05/zynga-flock/" target="_blank">compraba Flock</a>, el pionero navegador social que nunca logró despegar: contaba con 10 millones de usuarios, que sin ser una cifra despreciable, no era para tirar cohetes después de 5 años de proyecto y 30 millones de dólares.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.error500.net/articulo/a-flock-lo-mataron-newsfeed-y-los-botones-facebook-y-twitter" target="_blank">Ayer se anunciaba</a> el fin del desarrollo de Flock, una noticia que no trastocará los cimientos de Internet, pero que ofrece alguna lectura interesante. La primera y obvia: ¿qué pasará con RockMelt? Un proyecto muy similar aunque, en mi opinión, mejor diseñado y resuelto.</p>
<p><strong>La otra: ¿qué trama Zynga?</strong></p>
<p>Como cuentan en su FAQ:</p>
<p><em>The Flock team joined Zynga in January, 2011 and is now working to assist Zynga in achieving their goal of building the most fun, social games available to anyone, anytime -- <strong>on any platform</strong>.</em></p>
<p>Parece que están preparando alguna plataforma de juegos que les haga independientes de Facebook, con los que han tenido sus pequeños roces. Un movimiento coherente con algunas de las cosas que ha venido haciendo Zynga, como <a href="http://venturebeat.com/2010/11/16/who-needs-facebook-zynga-launches-first-two-games-on-yahoo/" target="_blank">lanzar juegos en Yahoo!</a> o empezar a  <a href="http://www.ivanfanego.com/2010/09/zynga-en-busca-de-la-independencia-que-nunca-tuvo/" target="_blank">hacerse con las cuentas de email de sus usuarios</a>.</p>
<p>Tal y como está el patio, es difícil defender que la mejor estrategia sea estar en la plataforma de otro, con sus reglas.</p>

<p>El vídeo que encabeza esta entrada es <a href="http://www.corning.com/news_center/features/A_Day_Made_of_Glass.aspx" target="_blank"><em>A day made of glass, </em>de Corning</a>.</p>
<p>En el momento de escribir esto supera los 9 millones de visionados y arroja una cantidad ingente de resultados en Google. La verdad, es que es bastante impresionante: de una factura impecable y con algunos conceptos de lo más interesantes. Aunque  hay que reconocer que la sombra de Apple es alargada y los <em>cacharros iPhone-like,</em> la estética estilizada y aséptica inundan el escenario. Pero a pesar de todo, es un gran vídeo. Y sí, parece futurista.</p>
<p>En el futuro todo es táctil, la gente es guapa, vive en casas grandes y no se dedica a reventar las marquesinas de los autobuses.</p>
<p><strong>¿De verdad podemos <em>imaginar</em> el futuro? </strong>¿O nos limitamos a proyectar la sombra del momento, alargándola un poco más?</p>
<p>Si dentro de 50 años alguien ve este vídeo, seguramente se lleve una impresión similar a la que nos podemos llevar hoy viendo esta proyección que hacían en los 50 de las cocinas del futuro:</p>
